Yin yoga aims to stretch the deep tissues and joints of the body by holding postures for up to 10 minutes. It’s a meditative style that allows gravity and time to gently open the body while relaxing the mind.

Props are used to assist in gaining comfort within the postures. Yin focuses on how a posture feels and not how it looks therefore, it is entirely adaptable and suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners.

Alongside the yin postures, other techniques such as somatic movement and gentle breathwork may be used to ease us into the practice.

Yin also provides space and peace in the mind by giving it time and non-judgement.

**The practice will be held by Lewis**

Lewis has been practicing Yoga since 2017 as a remedy to the toll competitive triathalon training was taking on his body. Since then he has delved into many forms of Yoga, completing 200hr Ashtanga Yoga Teacher certification in 2024 (CYS Perth), 100hr Yin Yoga teacher training in 2025 (Evolution Yoga, Portugal) and various immersive yoga retreats including 2 months in Nepal learning classical methods.

He believes the practice is for everyone, no matter your flexibility, background, or experience. For him, yoga isn’t about perfect poses—it’s about connecting with yourself and showing up as you are.
